Nick Dunne is one of the main characters and main protagonist in Gone Girl. After he lost his job in New York and his mother became sick, Nick moved back to his hometown with his wife in hopes of owning a business with his sister, but the move only aggravated relationships with his wife. On the day of their fifth wedding anniversary, Amy goes missing and Nick becomes the main suspect.
